Lower Yosemite Falls Day Hike - Yosemite National Park
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

    A unique and humbling experience.

  • Description:

    • Mysterious moonbows appear at full moons in April, May and June.  Lower Yosemite Falls is jammed with people each summer day, but at night the power of rock and water take over and human things are diminished to a proper scale.  If you go in May or June, you might bring a rainjacket, and expect a deafening roar.  The falls actually increase in volume at night as peak afternoon snowmelt from higher up reaches the 4000' level after midnight.
