The best hotels near Yosemite Village include one of the best in the West and many of the best places to stay in the Yosemite region. Staying in Yosemite Valley is a first choice for many visitors, for good reason. The concentration of remarkable scenic features within the few square miles of Yosemite Valley's east end is scarcely approached anywhere else on earth. Outside your motel room or campsite (because staying in Yosemite must consider the many tent/RV options) you'll find Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Glacier Point and Washington's Column - any one of which could anchor a national park on its own.
The Ahwahnee is a grand park lodge of classic 'parkitecture' dimension; even if you don't stay here, it can be worth it to just roam the grounds or vast interior spaces. Next in luxury is the Yosemite Lodge by the Falls, where its name describes just one nearby attraction: the tallest waterfall in North America. Curry Village is a third main lodging area, about a mile from Yosemite Village. It consists of scores of tent cabins and cabins-without-bath, as well as some cabins and rooms that do have internal bathrooms. Central bath houses, a big amphitheater for evening programs, a store, and several dining options are also useful features at Curry.
Several hundred campsites in four NPS campgrounds are very popular. Two campgrounds are open year-round. In the summer, all sites will be full every night of the week. Rockclimbers gravitate to historic Camp Four, while more families like the river and trail access at the three Pines campgrounds, which aren't far from the amenities of Curry Village.
