The best restaurants near Yosemite Village include a range of options, and more good eateries can easily be reached with a quick hop on the free shuttle. Degnan's Deli is a hub for village activity, especially at lunchtime, when visitors mix with rangers to order sandwiches named for park landmarks. Degnan's is open year-round, is the closest food to the Visitor Center and Ansel Adams Gallery area and opens early for breakfast items. Upstairs from Degnan's is The Loft, a convenient summertime place for families to sit down and enjoy a pizza or salad.
Just a short stroll down the pedestrian mall from Degnan's is the Village Store where you can pick up essential supplies for one of Yosemite's best dining experiences: a picnic. You could carry your picnic basket a couple hundred yards west to the edge of Cook's Meadow to sit on a log and take in the view of Yosemite Falls, Three Brothers or Sentinel Rock. Walk a couple hundred yards east and you'll find Ahwahnee Meadow where your sunny view includes Royal Arch Cascades, Glacier Point and Half Dome - décor unmatched by any restaurant. Never feed the squirrels or jays, and be sure to police your picnic spot for litter/crumbs before you depart.
Adjacent to the Village Store is the Village Grill, where you can get burgers, etc. There are a couple dozen picnic tables on a patio right there, bathrooms and shuttle stop are steps away.
Since there's no lodging in Yosemite Village, it's mostly a daytime dining place. That free shuttle gets you to fine dinnertime options at the Ahwahnee Hotel or Yosemite Lodge, or to more simple fare at Curry Village.
