Top 10:

Yosemite National Park Shopping

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • There are a handful of pretty great places to shop in Yosemite -and they're quite popular for good reasons of uniqueness. Most visitors want some kind of souvenir and there are plenty on offer in various outlets. Whether it's a Yosemite trail guide, an Ansel Adams print or a stuffed bear for the kids, shoppers can have their way in the park. The Village Store has the biggest concentration of Yosemite souvenirs (as well as the most groceries). You'll find t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, shot glasses, toys, games, hats, walking sticks, fridge magnets, keychains and much more here.

Nearby in Yosemite Village the Ansel Adams Gallery is the kind of interesting store you expect in Santa Fe or Sausalito. There are featured artists' works, good literature, jewelry, and plenty of Ansel's marvelous work in various forms. Next door is the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center with the park's biggest bookstore; all sales support the non-profit park support group. In addition to trail guides, photography books, natural history references, historical accounts and loads of park maps there are t-shirts, postcards, kid stuff and posters.

Yosemite's outdoor enthusiasts like the Village Sport Shop for simple adventure gear, and the more hard-core get their goods at the Mountain Shop in Curry Village. The Mountain Shop has serious hardware for climbers, backcountry skiers and those who'll be out in the elements. Outside the park, the best sporting gear shops are Miller's in Oakhurst and several outdoor stores in the year-round resort of Mammoth Lakes on the East Side.
