The top-rated Tenaya Lodge seems to have one foot in the Adirondack Mountains and another in the Southwest. This three- and four-story resort is on 35 acres surrounded by Sierra National Forest and features a full slate of organized recreational activities. The comfortable rooms are modern, and the grand lobby has an impressive fireplace built of river rock that towers three stories. Tenaya Lodge is an especially cozy choice for winter visitors.
