• The Mountain Shop at Curry Village is fun for a casual visitor to poke around in and look for hiking socks or a hat that keep ears warm or face shaded.  But it's also a place where a serious climber or mountaineer can acquire high-quality clothing, camping supplies, climbing rope or other technical gear for a Yosemite adventure.  Maps, trekking poles, porta-ledges, perlon, raingear, gaiters, a variety of protection, water vessels, gloves, helmets, rock shoes, crash-pads, freeze-dried food, and more is found here.  The staff knows their inventory well, and can add lots of advice about Yosemite climbing or backpacking.
  The Yosemite Mountaineering School is tucked into the store, if you're looking for an excuse to get new gear and grow a new skill at the same time.
