Is this a lake hike good for family with small children? Can it be hikable without winter equipment on Memorial weekends this year?

There will probably be snow on the north slope as you drop into Gaylor Basin from Tioga Pass, but we've had such a light winter, there's not much snow left or travel problems with high runoff.
