You have plenty of options, depending on how long you'll be visiting Yosemite and how much driving you want to do. Most people want to see Yosemite Valley, which is almost two hours from Sonora, the biggest foothill town, a few miles off of 120 with several hotels. Closer is Groveland, with the historic Hotel Charlotte. There are a handful of nice B+B's along the 120 corridor, too. See some options at http://www.nileguide.com/destination/yosemite-national-park/neighborhood/highway-120-west-corridor-1590. Again, you're looking at maybe an hour's drive in to Yosemite Valley from the Groveland area. April is getting towards the popular season and you'll find many places booked already. Tioga Road and Glacier Point Road will still be closed by snow.

If you go to yosemitegoldcountry.org you will see lodging in the Groveland - Highway 120 area and the many chioces. This is the Tuolumne County Visitor's Bureau website and you can also access a virtual visitor's guide (Groveland is on Page 48) or request a copy be sent to you. You can also stay in Jamestown or Sonora which are about 1 1/2 hours from Yosemite Valley.
