Yosemite on $150 for a week? It can be done! Bring all your grocieries/supplies, set up in one of 13 campgrounds and enjoy the good life in this mountain preserve. It really is that easy.Some people are put off by the park's $20/car entrance fee, but this is good for a week's entry, is less than 3 people going to the movies or 2 people going out to lunch or buying yourself a new shirt, and is a fair price to pay to help care for a national treasure like Yosemite. You can even enter the park more cheaply if you come in by bus. If you're a daytripper, once inside Yosemite, you needn't spend much more. Pick up a tasty lunch at Degnan's Deli to put in your daypack for a hike. Rent bikes at Yosemite Lodge or Curry Village for an easy cruise on bike trails or on the road around the mostly flat Valley floor. If you're headed out over Tioga Pass to the East Side, you must dine at the Mobil Mart's Whoa Nellie Deli in Lee Vining - inexpensive, astonishingly good and often with live music. To the west of the park, the Bug Hostel is the popular, affordable place to eat and to base a few day's stay; they even do van tours from here.
