Planning a Trip
Getting There -- Iberia has direct flights to Zaragoza from Madrid and Barcelona. From the airport in Zaragoza, you can get a bus to the Plaza de San Francisco. For flight information, call tel. 90-240-05-00.
Nineteen trains arrive daily from Barcelona (trip time: 3 1/2-4 1/2 hr.) and 15 from Madrid (3 hr.). Trains pull into Estación Zaragoza-Delcias, Calle Rioja 33 (tel. 90-224-02-02).
There is one direct bus a day between Zaragoza and Barcelona (3 1/2 hr.).
By car, Zaragoza is easily reached on the E-90 (A-2) east from Madrid or west from Barcelona.
Visitor Information -- The tourist office, Plaza del Pilar s/n (tel. 90-214-20-08; www.turismozaragoza.com), is open daily April to October 9am to 9pm, and November to March 10am to 8pm.
Special Events -- One of the city's big festivities is the Fiesta de la Virgen del Pilar, held the week of October 12, with top-name bullfighters, religious processions, and general merriment.
