Description:

Of all the beachfront restaurants on Playa la Ropa, El Manglar probably has the most unusual location as well as one of the more unique menus.  Nestled behind a lagoon, El Manglar is neighbor to a family of crocodiles that will provide a bit of afternoon entertainment and, if they're in the mood, some great photo ops.  The crocs are well fed, protected by environmental law and cared for by El Manglar staff, so your lunch -- and you! -- are safe.

The menu carries a few beach food staples such as fish tacos, quesadillas and chips with guacamole but you'll be wise to venture beyond this standard (albeit delicious) fare.  With 27-spice tuna, blackened mahi mahi and other seafood specialties.  The food is made to order, often from just caught fish, so don't come if you're in a hurry. There are hammocks to linger in, plenty of ice cold beer and, of course, the crocodiles to keep you company while you wait.

You'll have to cross a wooden footbridge across the bridge to get to the restaurant from the beach or there is also road access that passes through the El Manglar parking lot that also doubles as a full service RV park.  Wifi access is available for laptops.
