Active Things To Do in Zion National Park

You came to Zion to get some exercise, didn't you? We've rounded up a list of the most active things to do in Zion. Meaning you'll get a workout with a great pay-off in the form of views and stunning natural beauty. This list of top active things includes some real toughies, so get ready to get your lungs working.

The first two on our list of best active things to do in Zion are Angels Landing and the Zion Narrows. These hikes seem to make almost every list. Why are they on this particular list? Because you'll not only work out, you'll get the opportunity to experience stellar hikes that people from all over the world come to Zion to do. On Angels Landing, you'll use those leg muscles heading to the top. At the Narrows, you'll wade against the current of the Virgin River as you head into this most famous of slot canyons.

The Subway and West Rim aren't done as often, probably because both require more effort. But there's a reason the Subway is called a classic slot canyon hike and the West Rim's views have been compared to Yoesmite's. The Emerald Pools (Lower, Middle, and Upper) head uphill, leading to fantastic views.

Observation Point will really tax you if you attempt it midsummer, midday, so plan ahead. This steep, super rewarding hike will get your lungs pumping with all the fresh air. Hidden Canyon is a great summer choice because it's shady, but still fairly strenuous.
