Spectacular views from overlooks, deep inside canyons, and sparsely-traveled.
Description:
This is considered the Zion trip if you're a backpacker. You see all the geology Zion offers along the West Rim Trail, as well as all the ecology. Keep your peepers peeled for colorful wildflowers and some of the park's 292 bird species. This is also a shuttle trip, so you either need two cars or, more likely, to hire a shuttle from one of the local guiding companies.

Description:
Want to see Zion, rather than all the other people who want to see Zion? Head to the "upper" part of the Park, Kolob Canyons, and hike in to see Kolob Arch for yourself. This section is as glorious as the far more visited southern section of Zion, and Kolob Arch offers something better: beauty without all the people. This is a hiker's hike, so be prepared for anything from blisters to tarantulas to raincloud bursts as you explore the trail to one of the Northern Hemisphere's largest freestanding arches. Totally worth the effort if you're prepared.

Location:

Description:
The Middle Fork of Taylor Creek has reliable water, excellent views, and few people—all of which are a treasure in the beauty of Zion! You get to see not one but two historic homestead cabins built by the first white settlers. The amazing Double Arch Alcove is a visual feast. Note: you'll cross the river numerous times, so be prepared to possibly get wet. Make sure you take a trail guide to ensure you don't wander off onto one of the many branch-out "social trails" that cut away from the main trail.

An easy view of the Kolob Terrace section. Small kids, the less-ambulatory, and quick-stop viewers should enjoy it.
Description:
This is a very simple stroll to a gorgeous overlook in the underappreciated northern section of Zion. Just over a mile roundtrip, the overlook is a great choice to get out and stretch your legs during travel over the Kolob Canyons Road. There's a picnic area too if you want to have a bite while enjoying the views.

An excellent experience of Zion's outstanding backcountry
Description:
It's tough, it has those great drop-offs, and the views of course are beyond astounding. Wanna do it? We recommend it highly! This great hike, which will likely be a long day hike or an overnighter for most travelers, is less-visited. Meaning? It's less crowded, more serene, and offers a truly authentic, wild dip into the natural backcountry of Zion.
