Zurich's multicultural identity is reflected in the city's numerous dining options. From rösti to fondue, kebabs to curries, hot chocolate to cold beer, there are restaurants catering to all palates, all cuisines and all budgets.
When it comes to Swiss food, most visitors think of fondue and its melted cheese cousin raclette. Both fondue and raclette come packed with rich flavor, but there are other Swiss dishes worth trying like Züri Geschnetzeltes (a veal dish served with a wine and cream sauce), Aelplermaccaroni (a pasta dish made with cream, cheese, potatoes and onions) and rösti, the Swiss take on potato pancakes. In addition to the traditional cuisine, seasonal eating is very popular in Zurich.
