Description:

The Museum of Design (Museum für Gestaltung) is Zurich's homage and official archive of design, architecture and visual communication. Previously housed in the Swiss National Museum, the Museum of Design moved to its current location in 1933. The building, designed by Zurich architects Adolf Steger and Karl Egender, is one of the best examples of modern functionalist architecture in the city. The museum displays five to seven exhibits a year. These exhibits often focus on both design and the zeitgeist in which certain the ideas were conceived. It is open Tuesday through Sunday with late hours on Wednesday.
