Many towns in the bay area participate in free summer concerts. Saint Petersburg has Music Fest on the Water on Sundays from 1 pm..until 4 p.m. Free live music every Sunday in the Courtyard at St Pete Pier, 800 2nd Ave N, Downtown www.stpetepier.com. Treasure Island offers Saturday Sunset on the Trail. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. This family event can be found on the beach trail from 104th ave to 108th ave. www.citreasure-island.flus/saturdaysunsets. In Clearwater the 4th Friday of the month is the 4th Friday on Cleveland St. from 5:30 until 10 p.m.www.4thfridayclearwater.com. Safety Harbor offers the Third Friday Music Series. Every 3rd Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the John Wilson Park Gazebo. for more informtaion go to www.cityofsafetyharbor.com Many of these events not only have live music but vendors and other entertainment. At Ulmer Park the 2nd Friday of every month Sunset Sounds offers a variety of musicians including blues concerts in the park from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Gulfport has concerts on the waterfront the 2nd Friday of each month from June through August. from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. It is located behind the Gulfport Recreation center. They do have drink vendors at the event as well. Dunedin has Starlight summer concert series on Fridays from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. starting in September at Highlander Park at 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin. Tampa holds their free concerts at the Park Square lawn at FishHawk Ranch every Friday. It’s called Concerts with a cause. They ask that you bring a non-perishable food to donate. Saint Petersburg also has a folk art series. It will be July 16th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. located at the St. Petersburg Museum of Natural History. First Fridays in St. Petersburg are held the 1st Friday of each month. It offers a free concert by the band On-Que-Players starting at 5 p.m on 200 Central Avenue in Saint Petersburg. Saint Petersburg has many different music events. The towns in the bay area all have some type of summer concert series. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on this listing check with your chamber of commerce or the town website. Usually you will also find free music at the street festivals and craft shows that occur in the area. Whatever your music flavor there is sure to be something you will like without having to travel too far.
