Known for its thoroughbreds, baseball and bourbon, the Bluegrass State is the gateway to the South. Start in Louisville, the epicenter of Kentucky’s Derby Region. Then head southwest, through small towns known for bluegrass and barbecues, with the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro. Agritourism is big here, and you can explore Kentucky’s heartland by visiting one of the states many farms. Check out hotrods at The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, and plan time for exploring the green side of the state; with more miles of running water than any other state except Alaska, any outdoor lover will be thrilled to take in Kentucky’s natural attractions.
