This year March 17th is a national holiday celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy in 1861. Happy birthday to Unified Italy! The 17th will be a bank holiday and since it falls on a Thursday may turn into a “ponte” – or long weekend – for many Italians. With sunny and warm weather on the way, it’s going to be a lovely weekend to be on the Amalfi Coast! Here’s a little photo montage in honor of the Unification of Italy.
