You’ve heard the hype, and seen the TV show—now experience the real Jersey Shore. The parties may rage in the resort towns, and the lights may glitter in the casinos of Atlantic City, but there’s a lot more to the Jersey Shore than vice. Start with the stunning natural setting: 127 miles of blue skies, sandy beaches and green parks. Lighthouses, boardwalks and historic towns dot the coastline, while nature reserves and parks fill in the space between attractions. Wind surfing, fishing, hiking and of course swimming and sun bathing will fill your days, while upscale restaurants, throw-back eateries and hopping nightlife will vie for your attention by dark. Stroll through the well-preserved Victorians of towns like Cape May, feast at Belmar’s annual Seafood Festival, and get off the beaten sands at Island Beach State Park. And once you’re feeling good and relaxed—and tanned—the parties will be waiting, in the clubs and casinos. No wonder the sun-starved and fun-hungry flock to the Jersey Shore.
