Los Cabos and Baja California Travel Guide

Baja California, or “Mexicali”, is easily accessible by car from southern California. Hop over the border for a day trip, or journey all the way south – or something in between! However far you choose to travel, you’ll encounter a completely unique cultural blend that you won’t find anywhere else. Even among Los Cabos there’s quite a range of atmospheres, from the nightlife and resorts of Cabo San Lucas to the more laidback and old-time feel of San Jose del Cabo. The Estero (estuary) del Cabo has the same beautiful beaches of the area, and is also a great birdwatching location. In addition to the region’s cities that are renowned party destinations, a number of them are becoming known for other things as well. Head to the Guadalupe Valley to try some delicious red wines in Mexicali wine country. Visit the El Palmerito petroglyph site to see artwork that is millennia-old. Or just spend all your time outside! Across the whole peninsula, many of Baja’s most exciting attractions are its outdoor adventures. The surfing, boating, fishing, camping, and backpacking are all fantastic. Finish off a day of adventure of any sort with a tasting of agave tequilas - a local specialty.
