The Northstar-at-Tahoe ski resort will be home to the NorCal Tough Mudder on September 22-23, 2012. Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. The creative race courses host about half a million inspiring participants each year and the events have raised over $2 million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The full NorCal course will be about 11 miles long with an estimated time of completion of about 3 hours. The challenges will include the Cliffhanger where participants will scramble over muddy hills, the Firewalker with 4 foot flames, the Sweaty Yeti with a climb over mountains of snow, the Shake n’ Bake where participants will be sprayed by the local fire department and then made to crawl through sand, and the Electroshock Therapy that includes a sprint through a field of live wires.
The entry fee includes an event t-shirt, one beer and live music during the post-race party. Entries will be accepted until September 17 and will cost between $125-$200 depending on when you sign up.
