Southeast Ireland Travel Guide

Wexford, Waterford, and Kilkenny combine to form a green, bucolic, easily traversed, and only slightly touristy region just a few hours' drive from Dublin. The local accent down here is particularly musical, almost hypnotic, and it makes even a shopping transaction disproportionately memorable. Expect to do a lot of driving, as there's plenty of space between sights and little in the way of public transportation, and you'll want to see it all -- from the windy streets of Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, to the narrow lanes of Wexford; and Kilkenny's mysterious medieval remains.
