Guyana Travel Guide

Guyana is located in northeastern South America. It has a coastline hugging the Atlantic Ocean in the northeast, and lies between Suriname and Venezuela, with Brazil to the south. It is now the third smallest country in South America after Suriname and Uruguay. The name Guyana (from Arawak Wayana) means, "Land of many waters." It is somewhat related to the meaning of Uruguay, which means, "River of the colorful birds."
