Capitola Travel Guide

Entering Capitola by car, foot, or bike, visitors find a charming town just twenty minutes south of Santa Cruz that brims with a life and character all its own. This quaint, picturesque municipality is one of the last of a dying breed of seaside hamlets and locals strive to preserve that spirit and help it thrive. From the cafes and surf shops on 41st Ave to the Mediterranean-style promenade of Capitola village, visitors can taste, smell, see and touch the California coast as only a Central Coast town can show it. Meander through quaint streets and at every turn discover boutiques, restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors with tantalizing offerings. Capitola is a beloved favorite among area locals for the get-away vibe it basks in. Capitola hosts annual events throughout the year that draw huge crowds, particularly the Begonia Festival during Labor Day weekend.
