Kamloops B.C.'s hot summers and dry winters provide the perfect mix for year-round outdoor recreation. Located near the northwest tip of the Okanagan Valley, and surrounded by hundreds of lakes, Kamloops is a favourite destination for both summer and winter activities.

Anglers will find plenty of lakes and rivers to fish throughout the area, which is known for its Kamloops trout. Canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts will enjoy the North and South Thompson Rivers, as well as the Thompson and Shushwap Lakes, famous for their scenery and excellent boating opportunities

The city's proximity to the world-famous Sun Peaks Resort makes it an ideal winter destination, especially during its Winter Festival, formerly called the Sun Peaks Ice Wine Festival.

City attractions include its unusual self-guided brew tour, which features five local breweries; live theatre; fine dining and a wide range of sporting competitions, for which Kamloops is aptly named the Tournament Capital of Canada.
