Introduction
Gansu Province, 431km (267m) S of Lanzhou, 91km (56m) NW of Ruo'ergai
Perched on the border of Sichuan and Gansu, this Tibetan monastic center is slowly becoming known to Chinese tourists, but still lacks the commercial feel of Xia He. The tranquil mountain village is reminiscent of Lijiang before it was "discovered." It is hoped Langmu Si can escape UNESCO listing for a few more years.
