Introduction

191km (119 miles) E of Munich, 117km (73 miles) SE of Regensburg

For years, Passau languished in a lost corner of West Germany. But since reunification, the beauty and nostalgia of this old city has been rediscovered. With its romantic river setting and stately streets, Passau is a city of great harmony. Located at the confluence of the Danube and two of its tributaries, the Ilz and Inn rivers, Passau's bustling port is worth a visit in itself.
