Introduction

The intention with Taba Heights is to eventually create another resort village along the lines of Gouna, north of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast. In fact, many of the same developers involved in that project are also at work here. About 17km (a little more than 10 miles) south of Taba itself, the Taba Heights development spills down a long slope between a curve in the coastal highway and the sea.

Note: The Esso gas station across the road from the main entrance to Taba Heights has a small convenience store where you can buy water, soft drinks, and snacks for a fraction of the exorbitant cost inside the compound. You're almost certain to find someone who will sell you local beer and wine as well, but be discreet in asking, or the answer will never be "yes."
