Melanie has lived in Puerto Rico since 2002. After toiling in the San Juan restaurant industry, she studied anthropology at the University of Puerto Rico and now works as a teacher in San Juan. Whenever possible, she travels to Rincón for surfing and snorkeling, to the southeast for waterfall hikes, and to Lajas for monkey and spaceship sightings.
