Remember our post on Tourism Queensland’s Best Job in the World? That’s right, the six-month long job with responsibilities ranging from snorkeling to blogging to just generally exploring the islands around the Great Barrier Reef – oh, and don’t forget the roughly $100k USD salary.

Tourism Queensland today announced the 50 short-listed applicants, which include candidates from more than 22 countries. From a dance instructor to a scientist, the top 50 run the gamut; 11 candidates will be invited to interview in person on the island, including one wild card applicant selected by the public.

Check out the top 50 on the official website and cast your vote. At the time of writing, Julia, a 29-year-old marine biologist from Russia is in the lead by several thousand votes, but with 21 days left to vote it’s still anybody’s island.

Who are you voting for?
