This gorgeous sculpture was donated to the city of Buenos Aires by the artist Eduardo Catalano in 2002.

Located in a pool next to the National Museum of Fine Arts, the metal flower “blooms” every morning at 8am and closes around sunset. It takes about 20 minutes for the flower to open in the morning, and while open it extends a huge 105 feet wide. When closed for the evening the inside of the flower glows red.
