Founded in 1831, the Mount Auburn Cemetery marks a transition in colonial-era burial traditions. It is known as, “America’s first garden cemetery” and features an astounding array of flora, including around 700 varietiesĀ of trees.

This National Historic Landmark is located just outside of Boston and affords an unrivaled panorama of the city. With more than 10 miles of walkable roads and paths and an impressive list of notable “residents”, the Mount Auburn Cemetery is a popular retreat for locals and tourists alike.
