Tacos & Beer

NileGuide Expert Says:

An all round winner for a late bite to eat with prime location, fair prices and cleanliness.

Address:

La Condesa
Acapulco, Mexico

NileGuide Expert tip:

Where to come when you want to minimize spending but don't want to risk "la venganza de Moctezuma." Try the signature dish, tacos al pastor (pork and pineapple).

Description:

Conveniently situated right by Disco beach and all those glitzy places in Acapulco Dorado, this is the place to go when you are peckish late at night but want to minimize spending. Open air with a bay view, Tacos & Beer has a lively, party atmosphere. Given the location, prices are appealing (although locals might sneer that the tacos are overpriced). Fare is really rather basic (chicken tacos, beef tacos, only very average salsas) but you won't mind when you suddenly realize you are hungry after an evening event, yet don't want anything fancy or to sit down in a formal atmosphere. Lighting can be painfully bright, but adds to a reassuring sense of cleanliness. As the name of the establishment suggests, this caters to the "gringo" market and has been known to swell with Spring Breakers in season ... which could be a reason to come and watch the antics, or flee, depending on your interests. Boldly finctional - you don't come here to relax or for a romantic tryst.
