Description:

The wetlands safari starts at a number of locations around 10 kilometres north of Amsterdam. All starting point are easy to reach with a direct bus connection from central station.
During a Wetlands Safari you will travel through a 17th century landscape that has remained unchanged and villages that still are built on land and water. In this unique watery landscape much of which is only accessible by boat, you'll paddle through dense reeds, home to numerous water-and singing birds. Enjoy the wonderfull, spicy smelling waterplants with their fascinating flowers.

In canoes you will explore deep into the moorland-meadows. Where possible, you'll be able to get out of the canoe for a small walk in the reedlands. An English speaking expert guide, will provide information along the way about the plants, wildlife and origins of this special landscape. A landscape that inspired Holland's most famous painters back in the Golden Age, painters like Rembrandt and Ruysdael.
For environmental reasons the groupsize is limited so be sure to reserve a place, and take suitable clothing.
