Ambelokipi

Ambelokipi is a neighborhood that pulses with the beat of the locals. It's marked by two metro stations, Ambelokipi and Panormou, both on line three (the blue line.) The neighborhood's main boundaries are Alexandras Avenue, Kiffissias Avenue, and Panormou Street. This district has thrived with the advent of the metro and the businesses just outside of the stations' entrances are filling nightly by a fresh generation of Greeks. Particularly of interest is the Panormou area, where rows of 1920's houses have been retrofitted to be used for quirky mezzedopoulos (small dishes to accompany ouzo, beer or wine) cafes and other traditional eateries. The area is also home to the historic Nikolaidis Stadium, home to Panathenaikos Football Club (known more popularly as the "green and whites") Several important hospitals, embassies, the central police station, and the nation's supreme court are also located here. The Athens Concert Hall, or "Megaro Mousikkis" is one metro station before Ambelokipi.
