NileGuide Expert tip:

Can get crowded, but lots of fun.

Description:

Danny Doolan's is tucked away between two other bars in the America's Cup Village. It strives to be a quintessential Irish Pub with its stone floors and traditional furnishings. They have gone all out with the décor with a rumour that the original owners went to the Emerald Isle itself for its furnishings. While you enjoy your pint (sorry no Guiness here), you can check out the "Confessional" for authenticity. It was voted "best spot to make out" a few years back in a local magazine poll. By day it is a typical pub experience (the food is much better than you would expect for a pub), but it really takes off at night. There is live music every night from 8 PM and the musicians, probably Auckland's best bar entertainers, can really get the place going. Beware that drinking is taking place and occasional feats of bad dancing can result. All in all, a great place for a night of fun in town.
