If you are keen to polish up your skiing skills before heading down to the volcanoes, you can have a go here at Snowplanet indoor ski park. Over the bridge in the North Shore, Snowplanet is one of the biggest indoor snow parks in the world. They have three lifts, a terrain park, and a decent learners' area. You can also rent ski equiptment here to use in the park or take down south with you. It is easisest to get to buy car.
