The major portion of this acreage are Swan Island and Little Swan Island. Each island contains unique eco-systems with an abundance of flowers, trees and stunning views of the Kennebec River itself. Several of the islands also have stone foundations, hints of the farming and industrial past of this area. Visitors to this preserved property can enjoy a number of activities including kayaking, camping, nature trails, and environmental programs. Nesting bald eagles, white-tailed deer and wild turkeys are frequently seen throughout the islands. Reservations are required for visitors and can be made by phone or on-line.
