Healy Creek

Address:

Sunshine Road
T0L Banff, Canada

Description:

Healy Creek is a trail that connects the Cave and Basin parking lot with Sunshine Road (about 8km), which takes skiers up to Sunshine Village Ski Resort. The trail itself is pleasant and forested, but there aren't a lot of majestic mountain views. Any level of biker should be able to handle this trail, as it has very little elevation to it. Some bikers choose to do a loop, one way on the trail and the way back on the Trans-Canada Highway. It can be done, quite easily, but beware of the traffic, as biking along the highway can be dangerous. One thing to note about the trail is that it gets a lot of horseback riding tour groups, and it is covered in horse droppings. Also, horses can be easily scared by sudden movements, such as a biker riding past. This ride shouldn't take much more than an hour to complete one-way.
