The Maynard F. Jordan Planetarium is perhaps the most visible feature of the University of Maine's astronomical studies program. The planetarium opens its doors on a frequent basis to members of the public interested in learning more about its work.

In particular, the observatory features viewing sessions where it is possible to scan the heavens using its long-range telescopes. In addition, the planetarium itself presents family-friendly sky shows for the public. Those visiting the Bangor area should consider a stop at the planetarium for an evening of star viewing enjoyment.
