It it's summer, then it must be time for the famed Penobscot Theatre's "Northern Writes: New Play Festival." Come June, Bangor becomes the center of the regional play writing universe as Penobscot plays host to the newest works of stage writing in American theater. For 2011, the festival will take place from June 21 to July 3. Playwrights from throughout the United States participate in this festival through a series of public readings, workshops and live performances of their most current works.
