Bass Park, centrally located in downtown Bangor, is home to the Bangor Auditorium and Civic Center. Both complexes are run by the semi-public Bass Complex corporation. This destination is part park and part entertainment venue. Visitors can enjoy everything from free outdoor concerts to business trade shows in the auditorium and civic center.

Bass Park itself is home to the Bangor State Fair which, this year, takes place from July 29 to August 7. The fair features all of the time-honored state fair favorites including amusement rides, arcades, and live shows. When visiting the park, be sure to look for the  towering Paul Bunyan statue which, at 31-feet tall and 1.5 tons, is a fitting tribute to one of Bangor's legendary icons.
