Description:

Discover Catalunya's maritime past at the often unfortunately disregarded Maritime Museum set in an original Gothic shipyard built in the 13th and 14th centuries. The open space once used for shipbuilding is an ideal setting to display the collection which began as a small nautical museum in 1929. Today its highlights are the replica of Don Juan de los Austrias' royal galley, the original was used as the flagship in the important battle of Lepanto 1571, as well as the many excruciatingly detailed ship models used by sailors for learning, or for commercial sales of ships. The museum is a gem for those who love Naval history.
