Romantic Things To Do in Belfast

Although Belfast may not be one of the most romantic cities in the world, there are still lots of things you and your loved in this city. Spend a day with your significant other exploring Cave Hill Country Park. This park atop a 360-meter basalt cliff offers panoramic views, walking trails, and archaeological and historical sights. The park gets its name from five small caves thought to have been Neolithic iron mines, and there are several ancient sites scattered about the place and often unmarked. One such site is McArt's Fort -- the remains of an ancient defensive fort in which Wolfe Tone planned the 1798 rebellion. It's mostly gone now, but you can explore the ruins, which sit atop the park's most famous viewpoint.

Take the Titanic Boat Tour. See the birthplace of the Titanic to really understand the whole story. But don't expect Leo DiCaprio or Kate Winselt to show up. This unique tour lets you experience firsthand the sights and sounds of the bustling 19th century port. Belfast Harbour has always been a romantic and mysterious place, oozing with tales from far-flung places and boasting a rich, dynamic history. The tour also takes in the historic Harland and Wolff shipyard and all the other landmark Titanic sites dotted throughout the harbor.

Take a romantic stroll through the Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park. An attractive rolling parkland sprawling over 130 acres, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park's crowning glory is its International Rose Garden. It's a treat for the senses with the scents and riotous colors of over 300,000 blooms. Set out in a series of circular gardens, each garden has a different theme and is decorated with striped tents. So while Belfast does not exactly reek of romance, you'll still be able to sniff out some romantic activities in this lovely city.
