YEAH! Burger Part II

A second location for chef Shaun Doty’s YEAH! Burger is set to open Nov. 11 in Virginia-Highland. The eco-friendly burger joint debuted its first location on the Westside in the White Provisions development in June and was recently named one of Bon Appétit’s Top 10 favorite burger spots in the United States. The concept’s second location will take up residence in the heart of the Highlands, near the corner of Virginia and Highland avenues.

Committed to serving up all-American fare prepared with sustainable, organic ingredients, YEAH! Burger’s menu items include burgers, nitrate-free hot dogs, hand-cut French fries and onion rings as well as organic salads, Straus Family Creamery organic ice cream and gluten-free offerings. Customers have the opportunity to completely customize their meal–from the bun and patty to the sauce and toppings– when ordering at the counter. After selecting between options like a white or wheat bun and a bison or organic turkey burger, the customer’s food is delivered to their table. Patrons can also choose to order at the carryout counter. Burger prices start at $5.99 and increase depending on the toppings chosen.

YEAH! Burger’s earth-conscience ideology also goes beyond the food. The restaurant’s 2,600-square-foot space done in “California casual” style includes reclaimed Cypress wood paneling and heart pine table tops. Other green highlights include recycling glass, plastic, aluminum and paper products; installation of water-efficient toilets, bathroom fixtures and kitchen faucets; and use of 100 percent compostable cups, to-go packaging and utensils.
