Sweet Spots for Happy Hour in Puerto Viejo de Limon

Happy Hour is one of the most popular attractions in Puerto Viejo de Limon, and dipping into some two for one drink specials is easily a highlight of an afternoon in the Caribbean sun. At the Lazy Mon, happy hour specials of the day are posted on the roadside chalkboard, and those who heed the call are invited to partake in games of ping pong, the occasional burning mon fire dance, and live music on Sundays while the sun sets over the water a few steps away.

For a relaxed and mellow evening by the sea, consider happy hour at Salsa Brava Caribbean Bistro, where fresh lobster is the house specialty and some cocktails are two for one every day between 5 and 7 pm. The setting sun casts a  pink glow over the beach chairs at Salsa Brava and a trail of twinkling candles lighted after dark lead from the sand into the open-air restaurant.

For two for one mojitos made with fresh local yerba buena, the sweetest spot to stop is De Paso Cafe, between the sand and the street just south of Salsa Brava, where happy hour is offered daily,  4 to 7 pm, but sometimes stretches later into the evening.
