The Accademia della Crusca has added over 1,000 expressions but this year they plan on printing a dictionary in 2011. It will contain over 7,000 expressions in the Florentine language. The publication will be part of the local and national celebration of 150 years of Italian unity. The Crusca started assembling the Vocabulario del Fiorentino Contemporaneo in 1994. Its mission has been to record the current expressions of Italian and Florentine as well as vocabulary and expressions that are solely Florentine.
After register on the site, you can learn typical Florentine expressions. Be aware that the whole site is in Italian. The researchers for this site walked the streets of Santa Croce, San Frediano and Rifredi in the attempt to discover the contemporary Florentine language.
