Art Out and About: Vernon Projekt

“Why did the bees leave” is not only an important ecological consideration but also the title of the newest exhibition now on at Vernon Projekt. But why are we telling you about a gallery exhibit in our Out and About blog? Because this “gallery” is actually a former tiny shop that serves up an exhibition of contemporary art in its windows. So free and accessible 24/7.

Swiss video artist Katja Loher’s work involves choreography, color, costumes and people. She layers her videos of people moving, thereby making human kaleidoscopes of discovery. Normally she places these videos into objects like globes or glass bubbles to make them 3-dimensional. For a flat store window though, she has chosen round portals, which give the mix of videos and still photos a microscopic feel.

Stroll by one afternoon and do some window gallery-ing!
