Girls Night in Vancouver

Stagettes, weddings, girls night and the Weekend to End Breast Cancer are taking over the summer in full force! I recently had a girls night of my own with friends from Toronto visiting and we decided to live large and make the most of our night together. First order of business, book a room at an Orchid Suite at the Georgian Court. If you haven’t heard, The Georgian has come up with a pretty fantastic idea and they have dedicated a floor of 18 rooms to ladies only. In each room there is a flat iron (can you believe it?), curling iron, upgraded Aveda products (amazing), a yoga mat, satin padded hangers, nail polish remover pads (so handy), skirt hangers (I use all the time), ladies ’emergency kits’ and a copy of In Style and Holts.

They really do have all the bases covered to accommodate the discerning lady. I hate having to pack my own hair dryer and flat iron because it adds more weight and takes up space in my suitcase and these special touches make life much easier. These rooms are perfect when it comes time to get ready with your ladies before a night out on the town. The beds are incredibly comfortable, it’s very clean, there’s chocolate on your pillow before bed (Lindt) and the staff are very accommodating and friendly.¬† I thoroughly¬† enjoyed my stay there, and the best part is that it’s very affordable. That means more money for shopping!

Although the hotel is downtown, it’s very quiet and the noises of busy Vancouver are left at the door.

The Georgian is located just off of Robson and is in a convenient location that is close to shopping, GM Place, public transportation and many restaurants.

After we finished getting ready, dinner at Rodney’s Oyster House was on the list. With an all male staff of bartenders and servers, they definietly know how to entertain their female guests with charm, great service and the best oysters in town. When not causing trouble, we noshed on Manhattan Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes and freshly shucked oysters. It can get pretty busy in there, so it’s not a bad idea to make a reservation on a weekend night.

While you’re in Yaletown, jump over to George (1137 Hamilton Street) for one of their hand-crafted cocktails. The list of poison boasts drinks from around the world and each one is made with tender, loving care. Ladies, these are real cocktails!

My girlfriends and I all have different taste in music, especially when it comes to what we like to dance to.  560 Club on Seymour is 28,000 sq feet of dance floor that will satisfy all audio cravings. There are different rooms that play varying types of music, so compromising is left at the coat check.

Good night and good luck!

Okay, so let’s recap; If you’re looking for the perfect room for a girls night/stagette, book a room at The Georgian on their Orchid floor. Then, hit up Rodney’s for dinner and have a liquid dessert in the form of a tasty cocktail at George and finish the night off at 560 Club. Don’t worry about those tired feet, a comfortable bed awaits you.
