North Main Street

North Main Street has relatively less traffic than South Main Street. In fact, before the Breckenridge Gondola was built, it was a mostly residential area. However, the neighborhood is home to a number of interesting historic buildings, and the fact that it is slightly less commercial than South Main Street means that you can get a better feel for the historic character of Breckenridge. Be sure to stop by the Gold Pan Saloon, which describes itself as having the longest operating liquor license west of the Mississippi. If you'd prefer martinis over history, enjoy a creamsicle or chocolate mint martini at the Blue River Bistro. Those on a budget can find cheap breakfasts at Daylight Donuts, and cheap shopping at For Pet's Sake, a thrift shop that benefits a local animal welfare organization. If it's open, be sure to take a tour of the historic Breckenridge Firehouse.
